There's a lot of detail here for a reason!
Please bear with me as this review has a lot of details...after a hassle with the USPS, I finally received this table (no fault of Amazon nor the seller). I excitedly opened the package and with each layer had a new let down. First thing I uncovered was the bottom portion of the table. I quickly got over the small nick as it was the bottom of the table and would not be noticed plus it is a very small nick (pic 1). The legs were wrapped individually so I set them aside then uncovered the next layer in which I saw the underneath of the table top (pic 2 & 3) - as you can see, clearly there was an issue with the assembly. Even with the "new" hole, they split the wood more. Regardless, everything seemed sturdy and this table only needs to hold a lamp so after much debate, I decided to continue forward with the assembly. Once I flipped the table top over, I could see glue or dirt that was now sealed under the coating that's on the table (not captured well but pics 4 & 5). I tried cleaning it with the recommended "lemon oil" and ended up with shiny "glue" marks. Also, some of the corners were not fully painted or had been scraped (pics 6 & 7). Yet I still continued (I REALLY want a table for this space and I've been shopping for a month trying to find the right one)! Upon unwrapping the legs, I saw nicks, bubbles and a scrape on one leg (pics 8 & 9). I again paused but reminded myself that this table is going in the corner, between the sofa and the wall in an apartment that I plan to be in for a year. So yes, I continued with the assembly. Pic 10 is of the instructions that come with it and yes, it is that simple to put together. Please note the one instruction on the sheet, "do not tighten screws until space completely sassembled" (misspelled but we know what they meant). As instructed, I screwed the legs "finger" tight into their appropriate places (pic 11 - note the screw holes in the bottom of the legs/feet). Can anyone guess what's wrong with pics 12 & 13? Correct - there are no screw holes in the bottom piece to screw it into the legs!!! GRRR!
After all of that, out of pure frustration alone, I took it apart and repackaged it for return. I could have very easily gotten my brother's drill and drilled the holes myself but I paid money for this table! It was not free. I wanted the table and was willing to accept flaws but with all of this in one product - no thanks. It's just not worth it. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the description for one star was "I hate it". I didn't hate it, I like it and really wanted it to work. My recommendation is save yourself the frustration and go with something else. If you made it to the end of this - thanks for hanging in there!
UPDATE (LATE): I did exchange this item for a new one. I then realized that I was wrong about the bottom portion - you create the holes when you drill the screws in. Sorry about my ignorance for that part. The 2nd table did not have nearly as many nicks and marks. I did keep it.
