Oh lamp that sits in the corner of the room How could you fall apart so soon? I thought that I might be quite bright If I could buy a little light To push away the cold dark night But disappointment’s now my plight Since I decided to buy this light The glue that held your shade as one Has completely come undone What once was stylish, debonair Now, has left your lightbulb bare But am I bothered by a glare? No - because there’s nothing there! The bulb which once illuminated Poor construction, so highly rated, That I was tricked to take a chance And buy this lamp which you advance, Has now gone dark And in it’s darkness, I’m forced to see The folly that’s befallen me Is this lamp dim or was it me?
