Great results, but NOT SAFE TO USE!
Warning, please read the full review: This product is dangerous, but I start the review with general health tips. I would like to preface this review by saying that this product works well if you take the time to commit to a daily workout and eat correctly. During my time using this product, I have lost over 50 pounds and in the end I spent a little over $2 per pound I lost, which is a great deal. That being said, this took hard work, commitment to a 30 minute or more (usually more) session of an honest exercise, and will power. By this I mean, if you're just rocking your feet back and forth trying to waste 30 minutes, you're burning next to no calories. If you're not sweating by halfway through your exercise, you're not trying hard enough. My final piece of advice is DO NOT trust the built in calorie counter; it's wrong. How many calories you burn is based on how much you weigh, which this on-board computer doesn't take into account. Mine tells I burn about 2700 calories in an hour. There's no way that's possible, because 3500 calories is a pound, and there's no way I'm burning anywhere close to a pound in an hour. You should use an online calorie calculator where you put in the type of exercise (for the Gazelle, put in "Low Impact Aerobic"), your weight, possibly your height and age, and the amount of time you spent on the Gazelle. The time counter is the only calculation I trust on the Gazelle's computer. HOWEVER, all of that is pretty much irrelevant, because I would never recommend this machine to anyone else. I had great results with it, but with a high risk. If you take a moment and scroll up to look at the pictures I uploaded, this is a very dangerous machine. In the images I show how the washers and the rings on the cables have literally been worn though as a result of using this. These are made of thick metal, but because of the way this is designed, you're rubbing metal against metal and causing them to wear down after use. I have had this for about 4 months now and you can see that the washers have been worn in half and the rings at the end of the cables are about to break off. If I hadn't started to smell a weird odor coming from the Gazelle, these could have snapped while I was on it and I could have been seriously injured. This is a terrible design flaw and could be very dangerous. I would like to add that I was within the weight restrictions the entire time I used this machine. If you're looking for a long-term weight loss solution, this machine will not last, and you will most likely be injured in the process. My warranty only lasted 90 days, and it has been about 130, so I can't return it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because of the potential risk of injury, but I would absolutely avoid this if you are planning on doing long, intensive workouts over long periods of time. This will not last if that's the case.
