An incomplete game from greedy Capcom delivers a tired, lackluster experience making me feel cheated for my money
I despise modern game companies...shipping titles that are half complete and then expecting you to pay to play features that should have been included at launch. I mean look, I develop games for a living, I understand the cost involvement with producing games these days but Street Fighter V is not a game that is ground breaking in anyway...the game engine, models, music, intellectual property etc are all simple rehashes of years and years of what has likely made Capcom a billion dollars or more by now. There is just no reason for core parts of the game to be missing at launch except greed. They were not satisfied with charging people for player skins and additional characters...they had to remove core parts of the game modes also. Very poor job Capcom, long time SF series fan and am just turned off by their greed and laziness in the past few years. On another note, the characters are lackluster graphically, the music is again ho-hum in most cases and lacking music for individual character themes. Every character just keeps getting fatter and more dumpy looking, I hate the art style they continue to move forward with. Gameplay wise, its as you would expect from a Capcom fighter...solid with good combo timing and nice fluid responsiveness. I will give Capcom credit where its due, their fighting engine is second to none in my opinion..but it just doesn't make up for the tired roster of characters, non innovative stages/newcomers and just haggard game design. Give us something new please...and sell us a complete game next time.
