Grooming at it's best
Sorry, but a book about a 17 year old being groomed by a 47 year old is skeevy. And the family was more than happy to offer her up to the nice, rich man. That is was based on historical fact does not make it less skeevy. Romanticizing this kind of grooming makes it tenfold skeevy. Noped out of there after the fifth chapter. Just couldn't take it anymore.
