Doesn't work and support speed is from the 1970's --- Buy something else.
I try to avoid writing reviews, especially bad reviews. However, this does require a bad review. First, like many, many others on the support boards, it struggled to get connected to the Wi-Fi and the update was flaky. But once up and running it worked great... for almost a full week. It died about 6 days in, and the sensors just stopped collecting data. Of course, because many of the devices (per the boards) have serious data syncing errors, I had to walk through re-syncing with support before they got it. The Fitbit return process is straight from the 1970's. They use the cheapest and slowest ground mail delivery, which takes about a week or so to get to them. I sent mine last Wednesday, and as of today (Tuesday) they still don't have it. According to their support, I will have to patiently wait for them to open it and test it out. Once they realize it's broken, only then will send one back. They said sending it back would take another 5-7 business days. So, I'll probably be without the watch for 3-4 weeks. So, bought a Fitbit, died in a week. Now, 3-4 weeks to send me one that hopefully isn't junk. On top of that, there's no word about Spotify support... very sad. Update: I sent it in Nov 1st. It's now Nov 12th with no word from Fitbit on what's going on with the defective $300 Ionic I bought from them. They told me they would "expedite" my support, so this is what that feels like from Fitbit. Horrible. Update 2: I was told on the 13th that my Fitbit would be at their support the 16th (over two weeks via their mail support service), and that because my case was being "expedited", I would have mine back by Nov. 22nd. Today is Nov 22nd, and guess what I don't have? That's right, no Ionic and no word or update from Fitbit's worthless support. I can't believe a company this bad stays in business. They sell me a broken (yet premium priced) $300 smart watch/fitness band, and take a month to send me a replacement? Pathetic. You need to avoid Fitbit at all costs. Go get you a Samsung with Spotify. Fit won't even acknowledge all their customers begging for Spotify support on their own boards. Again, they just don't care. Avoid them. Update 3: 4 Days after if was promised back to me, and almost a month since I sent in the defective Ionic, still no word or update from Fitbit. So, I had to get with support again to ask what's going on. The good news is that I'm so used to following up with them, that I've got the process down and the right numbers ready. However, same results. "Thank you for your patience" appears to be their go to line. After being toward twice before that this was their "expedited" service (I can't imagine how "regular" customers are treated), they escalated it. Ooooo.... So, then today I received this; "We hope you have a great day. Upon checking the tracking number XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, your Fitbit Ionic was already delivered, Tuesday 11/21/2017 12:12 pm <<<That was to their warehouse 6 days ago>>> . At this moment we are awaiting for confirmation from our warehouse that they received the package. Please allow us within 5 business days from the date that warehouse team confirm the receipt of the package. Once we get this confirmation, rest assured that we will process your replacement right away. We hope for your understanding and patience regarding this matter. Please let us know if you have any other questions that we can assist you with. Sincerely, Joey Bel Y. and the Fitbit Team" I'm just speechless that in 2017 it is going to take ~2 months to receive a replacement for a defective $300 device. If your Ionic is still working, great for you, amazing. If it ever needs support, you will regret ever giving Fitbit a dime.
