Once upon a time Quicken was the "go to" software to manage personal finances. Like many others I've used quicken for years and endured the bugs, crashes and strange balances that randomly show up in reports simply because the few features that usually worked, like downloading transactions, was a convenience for me. Up to a week ago I was running Q deluxe 2015, expecting to make a decision as to which way I wanted to go after 2015 timed out. Like others have noted there are options. Ask your friends how they approach their finances and you may be surprised at how few use or even have heard of Quicken. I was fortunate and located Quicken 2017 at a very good price so I have 2-1/2 years to decide what to do. I suspect though that when the time comes around Quicken, as it is today, won't be around. They've had over a year to work some of the bugs out of Q 2017 and best I can tell they are all still there. From the reviews for Q 2018 it doesn't sound like much, if anything, has changed with the latest release. So who will be left to pay $50 per year for buggy software? This isn't Microsoft Office or an Adobe product that actually are very powerful tools in their own right. This is a piece of software that does some basic math such as we were taught in the second grade. And it can't do it correctly.
