I finished the story. Yes, for the most part the ending was predictable. I chose the book because it was under the genre of romantic comedy. There was virtually no humor in the story, although there was a sort of romance. Also, I would not have chosen a story that heavily promoted tarot cards, and the virtues of rearranging one's life to correspond with the 'never wrong' fortune teller. Whatever.
I can't say if the style felt stiff and dry because it was the translation or the original text, but it often felt like I was reading an accountant's To Do list. But, as I said, I finished the book.
