No $20 for extra cable, third-party cable works as great.
I was pissed off with Apple, no more $20 for the extra cable. I bought two alternative choices(around $10) that would support 100W/5A, with USB PD charging from Amazon: one by uni - 2m, the other one by CableCreation - 1.8m. Both uni and CableCreation cables support up to 100W/5A, larger than 87W(20.3V@4.35A), max power needed for my 15-inch Macbook Pro, both worked just fine on charging my 15-icnh Macbook Pro, the same speed compared to my original Apple cable. No more $20 BS with Apple.
