Worked for a year or so, then this morning woke up to 6 loud booms to discover smoke boiling out of the fish tank. Black soot all over and a dead fish. Not knowing any better my son reached into the tank to try and save the fish. This is a clear safety hazard and is a great risk for electrocution. I do not know if this thing is UL or CSA tested for safety, but certainly worth investigation. Made in China, so I doubt it.
