Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

(Sorry Amazon, I didn't buy these socks from you but I did get them from the Goldtoe website.) Something has happened at Goldtoe and there has been a serious decrease in quality. These are not the same product they sold even 2-3 years ago. Amazon does everyone a serious disservice when they continue to "bundle" comments together on a product that has changed so significantly. All the rave reviews are from 2007-2008. Those reviews reflect my opinion of the the old Windsor Wool, but _NOT_ what they are selling today. Something tells me Goldtoe significantly changed the Windsor Wool formula starting in 2008.. The latest generation of Windsor Wool are now 50% wool, 49% nylon and 1% Spandex. (purchased in October, 2013, made in Mexico). They shrink if you put them in the dryer and start to pill after 1 or 2 wearings. Yes, brown is back, but instead of the brown having severe problems, all the colors are uniformly mediocre( pilling, shrinking, etc). In Contrast I have some WW from 2008, they are 56% wool, 43% nylon, 1% Spandex (Made in USA). These don't have as severe a problem (except for the brown, which were awful, shrinkage problems, no stretch) but still eventually pill. I don't have specs for socks before 2008, but I am willing to bet the wool content was significantly different. (I believe they used to be Merlino wool, but not sure). GOLDTOE: I really don't care what the price point is, I want the original Windsor Wool back (and name the current product something else like "New Windsor wool" or "Windsor Wool 2"). This new stuff is junk
