I replaced one of those long, accordion looking plungers with this simplehuman plunger. It cost quite a bit more (as in over double), and while it LOOKS very nice, it’s not nearly as effective at plunging toilets. I have had numerous instances where the plunger couldn’t get the job done quickly enough, resulting in an overflow. It also sometimes causes some “splash back”, which is as unpleasant as it sounds. Equally disappointing is that the stainless steel handle will get stained over time. Mine has what appears to be rust going up and down the length of it. It didn’t even take a full year for this to become an issue. simplehuman makes a lot of attractive, modern items. I own their lockable garbage can and small dish drying rack, both of which are great. This toilet plunger, however, is crap. If you care only about the transient aesthetics of a tool used solely to force toilet paper and fecal matter down a pipe, this is the plunger for you. Just try to refrain from actually needing it.
