Dead in 6 Months
We have an old townhouse in DC with wood floors and an old wooden switchback staircase that seems to collect dust. Our two Maine coon cats contribute to that mess significantly.
I needed a vac that I could tote up and down the stairs and by and large the reviews for this sold me. It died within 6 months - and no, not from over use. Because it was so cumbersome and heavy I rarely used it, relying mostly on my dyson stick vac instead.
This beast just isn’t worth it.
Even while on the base it falls over constantly. The hose it too short to be useful. The on hose clip for the attachments is bulky and makes it difficult to fit the hose handle in small spaces. The vac is pretty heavy in part due to its flop over top heavy nature - I end up carrying it everywhere.
Previous vacuums I could at least leave standing whilst using the hose to reach up down and around, this falls over when you look at it.
Sure you could take it off the base, but then it’s not anchored enough and also falls over since the hose is so short.
The microfiber floor cleaning attachment is enormous, bulky, and has to be stored separately not on the vacuum, so it wasn’t very useful.
The upholstery attachment is not motorized, just uses suction, so the second you aim it for a seat cushion it just stops rolling.
I thought this would have bang for the buck, but I’m never skimping again and heading to Costco for a Miele.
I take excellent care of my vacuums, this one is just a mess. A mess to empty, a mess to store, a hot mess dragging it around the house on a short leash.
