We purchased this Generac 22Kw generator in July 2015. After seven weeks of the five minute test each week it fell apart. Literally, shards of magnetic metal and plastic all over and through the machine. With less than 40 minutes of run time, installed by an authorized dealer, our brand new, anticipated source of peace of mind which we paid $10,000 was useless. Generac's solution was to send out three major replacement pieces and call it good. The authorized repair man told us that this failure was "catastrophic" and that he had never seen a problem like this. He had also never repaired a problem like this! So, we essentially buy a new generator and get a rebuilt one instead. Field rebuilt, not even at the factory with inspections and quality control. That is not what I call value for the dollar, customer service or peace of mind. I am very saddened with the Generac attitude as much as anything. Their reaction on the phone was condescending and dismissive. Simply, rebuilt was good enough for them and we were expected to accept that. For a company that says they sell "peace of mind" they did not come through with any.
