What on earth did I just read?!
First, let me start by saying I DNF this book. I’m honestly struggling to put this book into words but I’m going to try……. There’s cake, monkeys and it mentions Matt’s junk being set on fire about 5000 times. It’s a total mess and felt very repetitive. The h is so ridiculously nuts it’s not even funny. She needs to be committed. She seems to live in her head and doesn’t seem to know what’s real and what’s not. This is probably the most cringeworthy book I’ve ever opened. I read what I could and started to skim the rest. Read bits and pieces until the end and I’m honestly so glad I didn’t waste my time reading every page. This is literary garbage. The author clearly has way too much on her plate right now and this book just proves that. Her work has gone downhill so fast I’m terrified of what her future books will look like. I think I’m going to have to cut this author from my follow list. Promoting this book as her steamiest book yet is an absolute lie. It’s not steamy and is advertised falsely. It’s awkward, gross, makes you feel uncomfortable at times and falls really close to sexual assault in some scenes. Trigger warnings need to be added. Also, the fact that the author uses the word ‘gay’ as if it’s some derogatory term is so disrespectful to our LGBTQ+ community. I’m utterly disgusted by this. Someone needs to remind Ivy that sometimes, less is more. This book needed less. Like way way less. I would not recommend this book to my worst enemy.
