No better than plastic wrap.
I cut an avocado in half. I wrapped one half in 2 plies of Glad Cling Wrap. The 2nd half was placed in the avocado keeper. At the end of two days in the refrigerator, the two halves were both browned and looked essentially the same. The photos show before and after.
