Five Stars- For YOURSELF
This book is very much more of the same. I was hoping to see a more holistic approach, and while there IS more research, it definitely isn't clear.
Coffee is good for you and also very bad.
One or two glasses of wine a day good for you, and also increases risk of breast cancer.
Whole milk and high quality yogurt, better, but for 70% of people can increase cancer risk. (?)
I think he is a smart, nice enough guy , I just don't think this book is as advertised. It seems a couple years too late. And I can't really recommend it to newbies, because they will only get hung up on those few things and not focus on the rest; even if some people still need to learn juice boxes and milk does not a healthy baby make.
I highly recommend reading something on mindfulness not related to food. The more you become present and aware of your body, the more you are able to know what YOU need and how food affects you.
Stress from reading books about your looming risk of cancer probably increases your risk of cancer more than that high glycemic bowl of oatmeal.
In the age of health where we accept that there is no one size fits all approach, surely the well is getting a little dryer when it comes to writing a book for the masses on what we should all be eating. Especially when information comes out two years before books do.
