Don’t be fooled! Do your homework!
Do not be fooled. Do your homework before you buy or you will do like I did and many others thinking you bought the best product because surely the high number of reviews must be right. Once you understand HOW to buy curcumin and then go back and look at other companies’ ingredients listed on their bottle it will make you upset. Here’s basics on what to look for. * Turmeric Extract or Curcuminoids matters! Higher amounts of the 95% standardized extract will contain higher amounts of Curcuminoids. This is the key active ingredient that all of us are looking for to receive the benefits! Many studies shows 500-2000 mg per day is the powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory magic dose. Many companies don’t even list the mg dose or they range from 50 to 150 mg. Look at this brand dose that shows you have to take 3 capsules to get 150 mg. That means everyday in order to get the minimum benefit, you must take 10 pills to get 500 mg. Crazy amount and cost. Example of this company’s bottle label: Turmeric Extract 95% curcuminoids, 150 mg Remember just because they claim 95 % percent Curcuminoids without listing the actual mg means nothing. Heck it could have 5 mg. Tumeric Root (curcuma longa) amount is not important. Don’t let them trick you by listing high amounts of turmeric root and claiming it’s super powerful. They profit off our ignorance. ABSORPTION: Look for BioPerine on the label. Turmeric is poorly absorbed by the body. It was discovered that Tumeric with black pepper (BioPerine) enhanced absorption and bio-availability helping your body make the most of it. Third party tested Organic certified, non GMO GMP certified facility. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. Notice when one of the above is missing on company ads they beef up other areas and even offer discounts if you buy more bottles to get you excited hoping you won’t notice. Look at this brand at their misleading ad claims, “highest potency available Tumeric pills.” You know, I really debated on whether to spend my time on Saturday to write this review. I have been buying turmeric products for years because of the benefits I saw from google. After recently finding out my dog was diagnosed with cancer with 2-4 months to live I stumbled upon turmeric cancer benefits and dissected everything about it. I wanted to try to give my dog the best chance to live or even extend it’s life. I was shocked and angry when I started looking at what I had bought and other companies marketing schemes for people who fall for their claims because we just didn’t know better. Hopefully it will help someone else.
