I really wanted to like this radio. I love the styling. I have several radios in my collection including the small Sangean SR 35. I couldn’t wait to get this Sony. Immediately out of the box, it wouldn’t pick up my local sports FM radio station - the one that I listen to for ballgames. It is a weaker channel and the adjacent stations simply bled through making it virtually unlistenable unless I personally held the radio with my finger in the top, and held it at a particular angle. I could not sit it on a table & receive the selected station(s). The other stations just blasted this one off the air! The same applied to another weaker FM news station that I always listen to. Deal killer. Let me say that ALL of my other radios, from small to tabletop, (including the Sangean) can pick these stations up easily. Three others performed fine, that I sat right next to the Sony! Truly a bummer. The sound wasn’t really good either - very tinny compared to all of the other radios. But, I could have lived with that. I have no use for a radio that cannot pick up all of my local stations - when tested side by side with several other radios that can - including 25 year old Sonys & cheap Chinese ones. Sad & unacceptable. Why would I even attempt to travel with a radio that allows adjacent strong stations to blast others off the air - especially when I travel to areas where I don’t know all of the stations & won’t know what I am missing? I don’t think mine was defective; I think that it is just poorly made. It went back. Sony - if you want to send me another one on your dime - that actually works properly, I’ll edit this review. Otherwise, I’m done!
