Update May 2, 2022 Still Hate! I am still having issues with Fire Tablet HD 8. Customer support has attempted a fix three time over. Issue was to be escalated to the next level with promises to call me in 2 days (has not happened!!). Back to Comic Cat Reader for me! My Amazon Prime is now cancelled as well as Unlimited. Going old school only purchasing DRM free products so I do not have to depend on uncaring companies with undependable comic book readers. If anyone knows of a good comic book service / reader - please post. Update April 5, 2022 I have cancelled my Unlimited subscription. My Prime subscription expires early May. It will not be renewed. Also...I am personally boycotting all purchases to Amazon for a month. Maybe some else may wish to do the same. They won't get the point with my little push but it will make me feel better for the short term. WHY?........ Because this Still sucks --- worse than before. HD 8 is back to major problems, won't download owned books. Gives a failed to download error. Reinstalling does not fix. Even Though it still works on HD 10 it is still hard to navigate content especially for deals and sales. Support....get on the stick and fix! What ever happened to "CustomerCentric?" Update March 16, 2022 Still hate this change. Not as user friendly, for instance hard to view best deals and offers. There is no snapshot that shows savings in one place. So.... My love affair with Amazon is over! I find myself looking at other vendors for products such as Walmart, Sams, and Costco. I know my little bit will not be noticed but if a lot of customers are as disappointed as I am than maybe Amazon will pay attention. Update Feb. 25, 2022 Well Amazon finally fixed it so it loads on HD 8, no thanks to Support answering concerns or letting us know they at least fixed this...! Keeping the one star rating. I don't know about the rest of ComiXology users but I am still not satisfied. I do not have that "warm and fuzzy" feeling I used to have about Amazon. This is a bit of a betrayal to loyal customers. I don't feel so loyal anymore. I predict it is just a matter of time before Amazon dumps ComiXology altogether and clumps it in with the Kindle Reader, after all this is just the Kindle Reader under a different label. More thoughts.... I keep thinking WHY I hate this change SO much...For one I think it is about the experience. Amazon is messing around with my comics. One way to get a fan boy / girl's back up is mess with my comic books and graphic novels. I believe Amazon is looking at this as a cash flow issue; We look at this as a joyful way to enjoy our comicbooks in a different way - money has nothing to do with it! As an individual I can't do anything about this. What I and others like me CAN control is where our $$$$ goes. I for one am cancelling my Unlimited subscription and maybe Prime (spending $25 still gets free shipping). If others follow Amazon may take notice. Oh! by the way, has anyone else had trouble installing this junk on HD 8 fire tablet? Among the other mess this has created it will not install on mine AT ALL. As stated below, Restart / uninstall / install does not work. I have been on Comixology for a long time and enjoyed it considerably - until now. I am also a long time subscriber to "Unlimited." When this app upgrades (at least on Fire HD 10) it deletes very comic stored on the device and requires hours of downloads to fix. Also, this version not as easy to use. This is just another Kindle Reader with a different name. I am now rethinking how I want to view digital comics and if Amazon's Comixology is the best viewer/resource (not at this point) New issue: This clusterf.... will not install to my Fire HD 8. Restart / uninstall / install does not work - just crashes on startup. Tired of emailing support. I'm done...Amazon - fix this mess! As an aside, I have always been an Amazon supporter but on this I take exception! Amazon has taken a positive customer experience and turned it upside down. I have enjoyed Comixology everyday (literally) but now it's just another Amazon Page - not a comic book reading experience. ComiXology stands best on its own as a dedicated site. Again - very disappointed. I have used ComicCat for other digital comics and found it useful but.... Support...we need an option to revert to the previous version with a way to block upgrades. I would be interested in knowing if other customers are disappointed also.
