You can read about the “pinch test” online, but basically it’s a way to see if a product is 100% pure food grade silicone. If it turns white when pinched, then it contains plastic fillers that may be harmful. Pure silicone would retain its color. I bought this item instead of other microwave popcorn bowls because some reviews claimed it passed the test. I’m here to clarify that it did not (see attached photo).
