Form factor is good. Cons
Pros: It is fast when it is working. Form factor is good. Cons: Why do I have to create an account that gets mirrored to NETGEAR's servers? The product may be able to function stand-alone, but there is zero reason I should be forced to sign up for a support forum account in order to use the product. The web interface is extremely slow. Fastlane (backhaul on one band with clients on the other) intermittently dropped routing using the latest two firmware revisions (1.0.0.40 and 1.0.0.44) and the router configuration page showed incorrect connectivity status while doing so. Non-Fastlane (backhaul on same band as clients) intermittently dropped routing using the latest two firmware revisions (1.0.0.40 and 1.0.0.44). If the extender cannot connect the WiFi AP being extended, it still allows clients to connect to it and starts handing out IP addresses using its own DHCP server. If you network setup doesn't use a DHCP range of 192.168.1.x, you are going to be confused and/or sometimes end up with clients that have an IP that isn't correct for your network. Bottom line: It is going back. Routing is unreliable and the unreliability is frustrating as devices roam to it and then lose internet connectivity due to the routing issues or roam to it only to lose internet connectivity hours later. I'm ordering some Ubiquiti Unifi equipment as I am fed up with consumer grade equipment such as this device.
