Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Read reviews as I always do to determine quality of product. Saw an acceptable % of negative reviews regarding defective products, this was on the top of my daughter's wish list for her 6th birthday so figured it was worth a shot. My daughter was incredibly excited when she opened her gift, less so when it did not work. Fresh batteries would surely fix the problem right?....not so much. Replaced with fresh batteries, changed from "try me mode" and the dog made a nonstop barking sound that would only cease if the item was turned off completely, none of the other supposed functions worked. My daughter cried herself to sleep that night. Upon reading further reviews and research discovered that this is a fairly common problem, upon further inspection of the packaging, this product was obviously a returned item. I have a sneaking suspicion that the seller merely retaped a defective returned product and shipped it back out to the next victim. Will never purchase this product or anything from this seller again. please learn from my mistake DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU CAN PHYSICALLY PUT YOUR HANDS ON IT AND VERIFY THAT IT ACTUALLY WORKS.
