Clamping surface is about the size of a dime.
Not sure what all the ranting and raving is about. These are very cheap clamps...and that is what you will get...some excessively cheap clamps. The diameter on the clamping wheel is so small it is a joke. It is so small that when you tighten it...it slides up or down the piece of wood and if you are using a softer wood like pine then forget about it. All the clamping pressure is applied to such a small surface that these will dig right into softer wood. There is no real surface for it to grab onto. The blue one in the pic I attached is the one you will receive. Compare it to even you most basic clamps. And yes, I realize these are not the same clamp style but this is a large F Style clamp with a contact surface equal to a 3 inch "C" clamp. I bought these because of all the rave reviews...sorry but these seem pretty worthless to me. You will need to set up more blocks to use between the wood and these clamps if you are going to use them....which means more set up time and less clamping length....both a minus. I'll go spend a few more bucks and get 4x the clamp for my money.
