This is nothing more than a WIFI extender repeater. If you want to try and utilize the so called power-line description, you need to put both devices on THE SAME CIRCUIT BREAKER which defeats the whole purpose of this device. If you plug the device in next to your modem then the only place you can put the extender is in the same room on the SAME BREAKER. You wouldn't need an extender in this situation. If you put the extender in a far away room IT IS NOT GOING TO BE ON THE SAME CIRCUIT BREAKER...so your not getting a power-line connection just WIFI extender which there are plenty of others out there for sale AND CHEAPER.
