This is a case where the negative reviews should NOT be ignored. I can't believe I spent so much money on this thing. It absolutely doesn't work. Unless you intend to paint the walls, floor, ceiling, doors, and yourself all the same color, I don't see how it would be a useful machine. You will also be trying to get paint out of your nasal cavity and hair for days. It made a gigantic mess both times we tried to use it. The first time we thought maybe we were using it in too small of an area. Luckily I was able to clean all the paint off of everything in my kitchen that shouldn't have been touched at all with paint in the first place. I ended up rolling the entire kitchen myself - no mess and it looks great. We were afraid to try to use it again but we did. The second time, we were trying to paint an empty house. We covered EVERYTHING as a precaution and because of our first experience. It still got everywhere. The paint ran out - about a gallon for a 10x10 room - and, had we not rolled a first coat, I don't think it would have covered well enough. Paint even managed to get through the drop cloths onto the wood floors that are about 100 years old. This could have been really disastrous, as this was not our home. We got it cleaned up but it would have been faster to just roll it all! I'm pretty sickened over this because the main reason I decided to get a sprayer was to paint my house. There's no way I am going to bother trying to do that. I'll probably just put this out on garbage night because I would feel awful taking anyone's money for it, as Graco should. I'll have to find another company that makes paint sprayers so I can get my house painted at some point. Hopefully the guys at Home Depot or Lowes will be able to point me toward one that works.
