None of the coffee I just purchased will work in these brewers - including some made by Kuerig.
I have a K75 brewing system. I love it and I'm drinking some (Kuerig Green Mountain) coffee while writing this. It will not brew in the new 2.0 system because it doesn't have the "white ring and seal" required.
The one thing that kept me from getting a Kuerig in the first place was that I thought I couldn't use my own coffee. When I saw with the K75 that they had the "My K-cup" so I could brew my own when I wanted I bought one in a heartbeat. I liked it so much I bought 4 more as Christmas presents. I really like some of the Kuerig brand and Green Mountain (also Kuerig) coffees, especially Dark Magic and Eight O'clock. But I like my own and other brands like Costco's San Francisco Roast. In fact it is an excellent one cup tea brewer by just running hot water into a cup with a tea bag. My brother will only drink tea and only that way. Understandable, I haven't found any tea that tastes quite the same shot through a k-cup as it does steeped.
They have made the new 2.0 systems so none of them will work, including the K-cups I purchased before they switched to the scan-able labels. One thing that really gets me is that Costco is selling the 2.0 systems and most of their stock of K-cups won't work in them either.
I like the idea of the 2.0 systems to a point. I like it that they now have an up to 4 cup brewing. I like it that it gives more control over the brew by reading labels and adjusting the brew to that specific type. But to force only licensed (their own) labels as the only allowable coffee is ridiculous.
I will never purchase one of these.
