UPDATE: do not buy this. Seriously. The box now sits upside down, airing out all the horrible smells from below, and will not return to the level setting with litter unless you unplug and replug it every. Single. Time. It will make sure to do so even after you think it’s fixed, so your cat gets stressed and poops and pees all over your house. Also, when contacting their customer support, they will inform you that an imposter is selling their product here and they aren’t responsible for it, even though it is able to be used on their app. Nobody will offer customer support or back this item’s quality. Huge red flags with the company, and a vastly inferior product. Maybe we got a defective one, but even still, their customer support is horrendous. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We have had the litter robot for about 6 years, and have had some issues with it lately. We decided to purchase this item after all the great reviews. It definitely looks much better than the litter robot. It’s sleek and much more modern than the clunky Litter robot. If you have a large cat, I would pass on this litter box. We have a petite 5 pound cat who uses it, but our 15 pound cat cannot fit through the hole. Maybe he could fit if he really squished, but the inside is also small. I love the deodorizing feature, very helpful. It seems that I have to press it manually most of the time to have it work well. As far as smell goes, I still think the litter robot wins out. This litter box just still has an odor to it, unless you’ve pushed the deodorize button recently. We can’t figure out why it still just smells. It’s not as bad as an open litter box, but it still smells. All in all, probably not worth the money spent, but it is a nice looking box with some cool features, if that is your priority!
