My cat got out of this harness. I had it pretty tight, but something scared him and he flailed and squirmed and was on his back. Suddenly he was running away and I was holding an empty harness and he was nowhere to be seen. Like another poster said, you're going to have to practically strangle your cat to be safe, and even then it might not be tight enough. Luckily my story has a happy ending and he was hiding in my parking lot and ran out howling hysterically when I came over, but I got very, very lucky. A scared cat is ridiculously fast and you may never see yours again.
