Really bad design. The unit is built so that the exhaust air is at the bottom of the vacuum - the same place as the "intake" area. In my case I purchased this item to vacuum up bird seed. But because the exhaust is at the underneath side - it blows the bird seed all over the place before I can vacuum it up. In comparison, our Miele vacuum has the exhaust on the top of the machine so as not to disturb what you are trying to vacuum up. Plus another irritating thing is that you have to hold your thumb on the on switch to keep the unit running.
