So I bought this bike rack for a long road trip across the country. Let me say first that for the price the build quality is great and it is a good deal. HOWEVER, I am really unhappy due to the fact that the grip that clamps down over the bike has permanently damaged my $800+ mountain bike. It has rubbed the paint right off down to the metal. In all honesty I would rather have spent more on a expensive bike rack and kept my bike looking like new. I am really bummed and upset that after using it just a week it has damaged my bike. Be warned and put some sort of padding in between the bike and the grip. Lucky for you, you have been warned. Me on the other hand... my bike has been permanently damaged by the product.
