Find Something Better Than This One
I have had this dish drainer for a little while, I have now chosen to write a review, because I am actually tired of using it and will be throwing it away TODAY. I bought this drained because it was collapsable and would fit under the sink when I am not using it. I normally use my dishwasher, so for the times that I do wash by hand I needed something to drain the dished in. I never overfill it, and I don't use it very often (maybe 3-4 times a month). Here is my honest review. It sucks. Here is why:
Shortly after I bought it I noticed several things: 1) the flatware partition doesn't stay in place. It comes off the drainer very easy making it cumbersome when trying to put it away or place flatware in it.
2) The malleable plastic/rubber-collapsable part became stress-discolored after only a couple uses. It didn't bother me at first, but now it does. Simply for the reason that only after a month of very little use it will no longer remain extended on the end opposite the flatware (there the dishes would go. 3) The base that diverts the water into the sink doesn't remain in place very well. It does not attach securely enough to the drainer for my liking.
I literally STOPPED washing the dishes today to write this review. I am so sad that I bought this product. I wasn't trying to "save money" or "cut corners." I actually chose this product because of the collapsable feature and it seemed reasonable.
But wait, there are some good qualities. It's light gray... so it will go with just about any decor... The water diverter diverts water into the sink because it does have a natural cant to the base. It collapses nice and slim and fits well under the sink (which is where it will stay for the next week or so to see if I get a response from the seller).
And for GP here is my rating scheme.
1 star is a product I would never recommend to anyone, period.
2 stars is a product that has many flaws and I would caution anyone that wants to buy it
3 stars is middle of the road. I caution recommending the product, but it serves it's purpose adequately.
4 stars is a product I would recommend and possible repeat purchase
5 stars is only obtainable if I have contact with the seller, customer service, or company. I believe that a product can stand on its own merit, but the company that represents it should demonstrate excellent customer service.
I have had several companies "refund me money" due to a low rating before (no doubt in an effort to boost a rating. I have even been asked to reconsider a rating after an partial refund. I don't sell out, and my ratings always stand as written.
