I have had this unit for about 10 months and had no problems with it. Actually I loved it. Recommended it to a few people and bought one for my mother. I used it for my 3 year old to drown out when my infant woke up as they share a room. Last night I was downstairs and smelled a plastic chemical burning smell. Searched every where and eventually brought me upstairs. Open the door to their room and it smacked me in the face. The room was foggy like there was a fire and smelled like a chemical plant. I took the kids out to fresh air and thank god they are ok. The culprit was definitely this noise machine. Looking back at other people's posts this was not a one time thing and other people have had this problem. DO NOT buy this!
