Poor Design from Rain
After using Guardline for several months in weather conditions that has included rain, snow, sleet & ice, the product has not held up. The cover flew off during a windy day and water ended up inside the sensor. I did not know water entered the unit because I turned the unit off due to the annoying false signals. After a few weeks, I was determined to spend some time to see what the issue was, so opened up the battery department and bingo, lots of water. I used a cheaper unit - Bunker Hill for three years and never had these issues. I found the water protection seal on the Guardline sub-par and the unit over-priced. Even after changing the batteries and allowing the inside to dry out, does not work properly. I do not mind paying extra for quality, but this is a tad extreme. Due to the poor design the Guardline DID NOT hold up to the elements of Central New York winter while a unit at a fraction of the cost did the job for many years.
