I had this to secure a 650$ Cannondale. I didn't expect it to survive the night with it but my bike was taken middle of the day in downtown San Francisco right in front of the entrance to a gym - so there was foot traffic. It must have taken them only seconds to crack this thing. See pictures. Overall I didnt like the way it attached to the bike either, the holder kept getting loose and eventually I switched to straps to secure the lock onto my bike while riding it. In a nutshell I would strongly advise against these kind of locks. They are very common, they give you a false sense of security. I would recommend a chain and maybe a not so common brand so that a thieve can not assess how difficult it will be to crack, I am using Abus out of Germany going forward hoping that thieves stay away because these locks are rarer to find. Note that if you do not register the lock and bike within 15 days of purchase the Kryptonite Insurance won't pay. I messed this up. Also they will only pay time value, no tax or accessories so your loosing money plus all they hassle that goes along with a lost bike.
