The item looked exactly as shown. I’m theory it was easy to assemble, but it was very shaky and we were never quite able to attach it the bed in a way where it wouldn’t wobble and loudly knock on the wall. Shortly after installing the headboard I began to get what I thought were hives on my hands and arms...turns out they are bed bug bites. There was a full infestation on the back of our headboard. Bed bugs were living in the screw holes and there were little white eggs all over the black backing. We immediately through the item away. Upon inspecting the rest of the bed and room we haven’t been able to find them anywhere else and have never had bed bugs before... I firmly believe that the headboard arrived with at least bed bug eggs on it already. Purchase at your own risk!!
