I noticed the price on this pail has been reduced, for good reason. The pail rusts, so it is misrepresented as "Stainless Steel." My boyfriend bought Endurance stainless steel pail (smooth, not brushed) distributed by RSVP. After 5 years, it still looks brand new. Wish I had consulted with him before I bought this pail. My pail has rust spots on the inside and outside, after one year, and I use liners. My pail is full every week, so I use it a lot. During summer and fall, the fruit flies are a constant battle, so I recommend you do NOT open your pail inside the house, go outside to open. And that's a pain because every time I want to add scraps, I have to take it outside. Just part of the program, I guess. It's almost impossible to avoid since the summer fruits we bring home usually have fruit fly larvae, especially cantaloupe or other melons. Anyway, buy at your own risk.
