Oh good grief!!!
I've been looking for a series and thought I found a winner in this one....but no.
Unless you like stories where neither you the reader or the main character knows what's going on, give this one a pass.
Basic run down: a woman's brother goes missing and she hires a mysterious man to help her find him. Mystery man demands damsel in distress as payment for assistance. Evidently cash is not King for this guy. The dynamic duo goes on a search in Mexico and then the U.K. in search of said brother and an artifact that has unknown qualities and value (to you and damsel), but mystery man desperately wants.
There's not a lot to mystery man King other than he's good looking, rarely speaks, is habitually punctual, and owns a lot of vehicles. That he has good hair and dresses well is mentioned with annoying frequency. Not exactly riveting.
Our damsel in distress: When not screaming, throwing punches, crying and/or vomiting, busily crash runs from scene to scene or passes out. Even less riveting. I guess that explains why I got all the way to Chapter 11 (of 15!) and there was absolutely no sex. None. Your mother would approve.
If you're looking for a read where you'll have no idea what's going on, characters that are either silent or hysterical, and a complete lack of sex, this is the ticket. I would tell you the conclusion of the story so you would at least know what went on (if the reader is actually ever told) but I didn't make it to the end of the book. Once I realized I was 2/3 of the way through the book and the story still felt tortuous, I gave up. A person can take only so much. Maybe one of the other reviewers will tell you the ending. If you're interested enough to read it that is.....
