I bought these bells and put them on our cat because he'd been killing small animals in our back yard almost every day and I was sick and tired of cleaning up the carnage. But what I didn't consider at the time was that the bells would make him a target for predators. And sadly I think it cost him his life. He had been an outside cat for more than 10 years with no problems, roaming all through the woods and neighborhood. But we think he met his end when a coyote got him in our back yard. While it might seem that our cats are the top of the food chain at times, they're not. And putting these bells on your cat may be like ringing the dinner bell for a local predator. Posting this so hopefully no one else has to feel the sadness and guilt of contributing to their pet's death.
