Purchased the 18x12 Maple edge grain cutting board for my wife, received quickly and appeared to be in great shape. Visually the board does not disappoint. Having read the reviews prior to purchasing and knowing full well that how you care for wooden cutting boards makes all the difference in quality, I didn’t think purchasing a Boos blocks item would be an issue. I was wrong. Upon examination of the board, I found a clear gap in a joint along the end of the cutting surface. I could easily slide the card stock insert that came with it into this gap (as pictured). Not wanting anything to get into this joint, I reached out to the manufacture for suggestions on how to properly seal this joint to prevent liquids from compromising the joint. What I received back from the manufacturer shocked me. Take it up with amazon, it’s their problem. That is what you get with this board. I don’t trust exchanging would even help matters, I think Boos has quality issues, and they know it. UPDATE: after 2 months the joint on the other side has opened up. We have never let it touch water. We oil it almost daily. These boards are not worth the money. Very very disappointing.
