This is one of those products that make me wonder if they actually tested it. The concept is amazing...cat grass but your cat can't dig in the "dirt." We'll get to the dirt in a minute. So, when the grass grows, which is does and quickly too, it pushes the green thing up. And you can't push it back down. So you end up either leaving it dangling in the grass or taking it off. There is no way to lock it into place making that piece useless. A design could fix that issue. The dirt it comes with is some tan colored growing medium. It also starts to smell really putrid if you don't dump it and start fresh frequently. Probably not an issue for most people but just so you know. It took me a few days to track down the source of the smell. You can't let it sit like a houseplant. I actually ended up using real dirt and it lasts much longer and doesn't smell rotten after a few days. I've grown the grass 3 times in the growing medium they sent and once in potting dirt.
