As other reviews stated these fish don't last long. One out of the 4 in the set stopped working within 10 minutes. The light still blinks but the tail does not move. The battery life is horrible. I changed the batteries on one fish with the provided batteries that came with the set. Those lasted even a shorter time than the original batteries. Of course who knows how old the batteries are. It is really too bad because it took 48 hours for my two water loving boys to warm up to them to begin with. At first they were scared to death of them. I left them in a dish on the floor without water in it so they could inspect them. Then put only one in the water so they could watch it. Removed it and placed it by the water and left the rest up to them. Finally one of them shoved it into the water while the other watched. I gave them one more so now they each had one to shove into the water. Working up to all 4 and they were in the water the majority of the time but since the battery life is so poor the fun ended. The light seems to last longer than the tail motion but now they are not happy because they don't move. Oh well they will just have to use their paws to move them around.
