Visually the product is very appealing. It has nice lines, the cement is a Nice gray color. If you have the right decor, it could be a very attractive item on your mantelpiece or shelf. As an alcohol stove, it is disappointing. Using 70% isopropyl, it was hard to start, impossible to keep going outdoors in a light breeze. I have built many alcohol stoves for camping and like with the camp stoves, this thing needs a wind screen if you're going to use it outdoors. Personally I would not use it indoors. Even though the combustion products are safe, alcohol stoves also put alcohol vapor into the air which is really an unpleasant smell and will drive you to creating a more well-ventilated area than you had before. I wish I spent a little more time researching indoor alcohol fireplaces before buying this one. Not only would I have saved the purchase price but I also would not have had to put up with teasing from my partner and my neighbors about having spent 90 bucks on a hunk of cement.
