It seemed too good to be true...and it was. The light does not turn on when the power goes out. You have to take it out of the fixture it is in and screw it into a supplied base to get it to work without external power. The fully lite bulb charge only lasts about 3 hours before the light gets really dim. And the fact that it can't share a fixture with another bulb makes it pretty worthless as an emergency backup in a regular hall fixture.
