Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I couldn't make it through this book. If you're bothered by the male protagonists slapping, beating, or otherwise attacking the heroine - then I'd skip this one. That’s not my jam. I'm not triggered by darker stuff, but I'm not ever going to forgive a potential lover for physical violence (broken bones, bitch-slapping, concussion, etc.) against the heroine. So, this was a non-starter as a 'romance' for me. Also, I really thought this was a first novel due to the awkward (to me) writing. Obviously, not everyone has the same opinion on that, since several people have given book full-star reviews. I was really surprised after reading those reviews to, then, read this book. There was a BIG disconnect for me between the reviews and the book, so I’m posting this alternative viewpoint. Clearly folks have different tastes, and I don’t enjoy bully type romances where the heroes are abusive to the heroine, so I would have liked a warning. The blurb was more than a little disjointed (which I should have taken into account, with regards to writing style, before diving into the book), and so I didn't really see the abusive-heroes coming before hand. <- here's the warning that I wish I'd gotten!
