Immediately out of the packet, this has a super potent plastic smell. True silicone does not release that "toxic" odor. I've done a lot of work with poly materials and silicones. Decided to give it the "test" by stretching it, and as anticipated, once stretched, the material gives off a slight white color. That means it's made with some sort of blend, not pure ssilicone so I doubt this is truly FDA grade.
