This product honestly isn't much different than the disposable tanks that cost $3 with propane already inside! The bleeder valve filling procedure is very wasteful with propane and not some miracle invention. It still works better with these to freeze the small tank and warm the large tank. You do not need the flame king refill adapter, any quality adapter should work just fine as long as it allows you to fill it in the vertical position. Flame king tries to advertise this as being a "legal" alternative, but it is not illegal to refill a disposable type propane tank. It is illegal to sell refilled tanks and transport them for selling purposes, they conveniently leave this little fact off of the bottle. It is perfectly legal for you to refill a disposable type tank at home for your own personal use. Even the flame king bottle has big red letters that say "TO BE REFILLED BY TRAINED AND LICENSED PERSONNEL" We all know this product is designed for the do it yourselfer in mind, and they sell the refill kit to anyone with no license. Clearly the people filling these tanks and the people they are targeting for sales are not trained propane professionals. They are skirting the law even more so than refilling "disposable" type propane tanks! This thing is a dumb gimmick. It will die as soon as flame king runs out of money. The only thing I really like about it is the nice brass threads at the top, which is much smoother and easy to attach various things to your tank without causing damage, worrying about rust, or even wearing out threads since brass on brass wears very well. Brass on steel, like in a disposable tank, can tend to wear out the brass threads quite quickly on whatever device you may be attaching. UPDATE: The second tank I ordered arrived with a rust bubble under the paint! It's already chipping off and showing tons of rust underneath, like an old car! It was also very poorly packaged by amazon in a loose envelope with no padding, which caused the plastic safety cap to be smashed. This item really needs to be shipped in a box!
