I got this to work as a bedtime speaker to play gentle music while my toddler went to sleep. I knew it had an on/off sound with a british voice due to the other reviews, but what I wasn’t expecting was HOW OBNOXIOUS IT’D BE. My toddler now parrots it to perfection because it’s so loud and obnoxious. And you can’t mute the volume or anything before you turn it off, so I have to sneak it out of my toddler’s room and smother it in a pillow just to turn it off without waking up the kid. Worse than that though is the volume control. This thing has three volumes... mute, loud, and DRUNK COLLEGE PARTY LOUD. I have to zoom in on the volume bar in my phone and carefully leave it at just a tiny sliver above “mute” for the volume to be remotely acceptable for sleep music, and it’s still pushing the limits. (I can hear the music through the walls.) Forget using the speaker to control the volume, it makes large leaps with one click. Also, did I mention it doesn’t remember your volume settings? Yeah, you have to go through this hassle every time. Also, even at the lowest of low volumes, the battery life nowhere near last 14 hours. I’d give it 6 or 7 hours at best. My kid goes to bed at 7, If I forget to turn it off I usually hear it yell “BATTER LOW. POWER OFF. WOOOOOO” at around 2am. Sound quality is fine, I guess. Gonna have to look elsewhere for my kid’s bedtime speaker.
