Not Exactly What Was Expected Nor Advertized
I wanted to finaly replace all of the plastic storage containers I have because the plastic ware that I have now is all mix and match of different brands and colors. The biggest problem is always that I can never find a lid that matches almost anything I pull out of my cabinet. I have to search, pulling out almost everything before I finally find a match. I have 3 kids who are all involved in extracurricular activities which means I often have to bake brownies or cookies to bring for concession stands sales or we have to bring large side dishes for potluck meals to feed an entire cast of a play or an entire team. So I decide to do it! I research what comes in what size of each collection. I also looked at the red lids vs. the black lids. Maybe I spent too much time looking at these things and my brain fried because what I ended up with is a bunch of junk. Amazon is usually very good with providing details on the webpage of what you are buying, including dimensions of containers and the number of said containers. I should have known something was up when there were no product details about dimensions, counts of each size of the containers, anything on the page...anywhere! The containers came in a brown cardboard box marked “Rubbermaid” but it was not a box that you would find a set of these in a store. It seemed like they just threw in the unpopular, well lets just call a spade a spade, JUNK!! in the box with the lids and said “Let’s call it a day”! So let me tell you exactly what’s in this garbage set so you don’t make the same mistake I did in buying this set. * * 5 sauce cups and lids. I took pictures of the small stuff so you can see exactly how useless they are for food storage. These are the containers in the picture that is about 2 1/2 inches tall with my chapstick next to it to help see how small they are. A tube of chapstick is taller than these. The 4 sides are about 1 inch wide. Good for holding dressing or a batch of homemade baby food. * 7 containers w/4 inch long sides; about 1 1/2 inch deep * 1 more that has the 4 inch sides but 3 is inches deep. These are a) pictured side by side with my chapstick, b) picture of the 4 inch sides, 1 1/2 inches deep (chapstick in bowl is taller than the sides), c) picture of the 4 inch sides, 3 inches deep (chapstick not taller than the sides of this ONE BOWL. The other pictures show that the lids do snap on the bottom and fit well. They also snap well on top and have a nice tight fit without it being too tight to get the lid on with difficulty. If I had bought a totally different set, I would be happy. The lids are nice and work as described. However, these are going back! Don’t buy this set unless you are looking to make batches of baby food or need many small containers for little lunch snacks. My family of 5: 2 adults, 15 yr. old, 14 yr. old, and 10 yr. old, has no use for them. I was expecting much larger containers and the pictures Amazon uses for promotion are deceiving. They make them all look larger than they actually are in the box. IMO, only the 5 and 7 cup bowls seem to be big enough to hold leftovers or a side dish. I also need a flatter container that holds more volume. So I am returning this junk to get the actual sizes that will work better for my needs. So the total count for this set is: 5- 4 oz cups (pictured w/chapstick next to it) 6- 1.25 cups 6- 2 cups (1.25 and 2 cups in side by side picture) 2- 3 cups (pictured on wooden chair. A little bigger than the size of s sandwich using a regular loaf of bread) 1- 5 cup 1- 7 cup- (pictured side by side on chair. 7 cup is the tallest) 21 containers/ 21 lids
