Time for this show to stop embarrassing itself
I haven't seen the Blu-ray...it hasn't been released as of this writing. I did watch the Series and Special on BBC America. I would watch it there first. If you're new to Doctor Who, begin with 2005's Season 1. Expand from there. Perhaps, this is a slight improvement over Series 11 in character development. Particularly, with Mandip Gill's character. That said, I have read where Tosin Cole and Bradley Walsh have resigned from the show. The poor writing which started with Capaldi's Series 9, (and was at its unbelievable worst by Series 11), still continues. And, by the end of Season 12 rewrites previous Doctor Who canon. Huh? I find it hard to believe that Whittaker had the best audition. She is sorely miscast and lacks the needed gravitas to lift the character above the bad writing. She is extremely difficult to watch in the role, and best when she is not in the shot. On the other hand, Bradley Walsh is a welcome character. Throw in the political PC preaching and subliminal messaging of each script (when all the audience desires is escapism, and entertainment) and you have a mere shell of the previous Doctor Who seasons. Those various Seasons when one was exuberant in anticpation while waiting for the next episode to air. At least you can re-watch Doctor Who's glory days, or find other new and better programming than this drivel.
